Interleaved 2of5

(sample)

Interleaf is white paper inserted to each page of color-printed albums, etc. to prevent the color of ink from transmitting to next page. The word interleaved means that this white paper is inserted.

[13]

As the name, between black bars (expressing former character), white bars (expressing latter character) are inserted. Then the combination express 2-digit number with five black bars and five white bars.

It seems that five bars express 2-digit code, and it has higher density than other 2 of 5 barcodes.

For its suitability of binary level barcode for rough printing, it is often used for Cardboard Printing, such as UPC Case Code; and in Japan, Standard Symbology for Physical Distribution, etc.
